This Kotaku article calls 1982’s Dragon Lord “the most gruelling movie Jackie Chan has ever done”, and not because of any crazy life-threatening stunt. Rather it’s because of a single shot of him acrobatically kicking a shuttlecock into a goal. An impressive but extremely difficult manoeuvre that took him over 1000 takes to get right.
Jackie Chan is something of a famous perfectionist. Part of what makes his stunts look so good is he’s willing to try them over and over and over until they look exactly right.
