Cult Movie Classic: The Last Dragon

The Last Dragon is a cult martial arts film from 1985 and ridiculous is maybe the only word for it. The film follows the exploits of Bruce Leroy as he tries to fight off the self-proclaimed “Shogun of Harlem”, Sho’nuff.

Produced by Berry Gordy (yes THE Berry Gordy of Motown Records), the film benefits from a pretty great soundtrack featuring tracks from Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and Vanity. It is a pretty far cry from anything like “authentic kung fu”, but it’s a great watch if you just want some goofy cult-movie fun.
